Five Wildcats Win Academia Awards
CHICO, Calif. -

Proud to be Chico State basketball fan? Then get ready for even more reasons to love the Wildcats.

Five players on the men's basketball team are being honored for being great players with great grades.

Jake Lovisolo, Damario Sims, Rashad Parker, Sean Park, and Nate Appel are among 700 students across the country that the National Association of Basketball Coaches has chosen to honor.

Chico State is one of three  schools in California that have a minimum of five honorees, including Stanford and Redlands.

For one player in particular, the academic award is an ongoing trend.

Jake Lovisolo also won the school's Bud Hanna Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year award for the 2012 - 2013 school year.

It is Lovisolo's 8th award since enrolling at Chico State.

And he is not the only one lining up the trophies. Nate Appel also won last year's California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) All-Academic and Division II Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Awards.

Sean Park was also a CCAA All-Academic selection in 2011-2012.
