CHICO, Calif. -

Jazmine Miller has enjoyed quite a few big scoring nights in her Chico State women's basketball career, but none was bigger than Saturday's 26-point performance against Cal State L.A. - in one night the senior guard not only led the Wildcats to a win over a tough Golden Eagles squad (completing a weekend sweep at Acker Gym), but she posted a single game career-high and became just the 10th player in the program's history to score 1,000 career points. Miller's multiple accomplishments made her an easy choice for California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Player of the Week for Jan. 6-12.

Miller averaged 19.5 points in the Wildcats' two weekend contests, helping Chico State beat Cal State L.A. and Cal State Dominguez Hills to climb back into the CCAA conference race. She shot over 55 percent from the field and 58.3 percent from 3-point range, knocking down a combined seven treys while hauling in 12 rebounds and dishing out seven assists. Miller also converted 12 of her 13 free throw attempts.

Miller nailed three 3-pointers on the way to a 13-point, five rebound, three assist night Friday as the Wildcats edged Cal State Dominguez Hills 80-78, snapping the Toros' six-game winning streak. Saturday against Cal State L.A., Miller connected on seven of 12 shots - including four from long distance - hauled in seven boards and handed out four assists to finish with a career-high 26 in the 'Cats' 68-58 victory.

Miller's 3-pointer Saturday with 3:09 left in the first half moved her past former teammate Synchro Bull into 10th place on Chico State's career scoring list. Thirty seconds into the second half, Miller buried another trey to push her over the 1,000 point mark for her Wildcat career.

Miller is averaging a team-high 13.5 points a game and ranks fourth among CCAA players in free throw percentage (87.5 percent), fifth in3-pointers (24) and eighth in 3-point field goal percentage (37.5 percent).

Chico State returns to action this weekend, hosting Cal State East Bay Friday and Cal State Monterey Bay Saturday at Acker Gym.Both games are slated to tip off at 5:30 p.m.
