CHP sponsored their "Age Well Drive Smart: Keys To Driving Safe And Driving Longer" seminar at Simpson University today. The class was an hour and a half long and it was free.
Senior Highway Patrol volunteers spoke about safe driving, rules of the road and age-related physical changes. They also brought up the importance of knowing when its time to give up the keys.
“It’s to help people drive safer, longer, because its more convenient for them to use their own cars than public transportation or have to depend on someone else,” said Senior CHP Volunteer Chuck Spafford. "Second part of that, is know when to restrict driving or give up the keys so they were able to get a lot of information they can use."
Each participant got a student manual.
