There are many organizations helping people this holiday season and due to the need that many communities face, there’s a group in Red Bluff that decided to take the matter into their own hands.
It’s called Christmas For A Cause, a community-giving program to help those who help others. This is the second year that the group has done this.
There are seven different non-profits on the list and all people have to do is walk in and donate to the non-profit of their choice.
Boxes are set up with a list of things that the different organizations need. It's considered a one stop shop for donations.
The non-profit groups are: Alternatives to Violence, Military Family Support Group, PATH Winter Shelter, Ripe for Harvest Jail and Prison Ministry, Transitional Living Center, Children First Foster Family Agency and Senior Nutrition Program.
Jessie Woods, owner of Red Bluff Gold Exchange is the one who contacted the different non-profits and put together a list. Woods said last year was a success and she hopes this year is a bigger one.
"The need was so great, basic supplies like toilet paper, shampoo for the house ... dishwashing soap ... just getting basic supplies," said Woods.
Christmas For A Cause goes on till Dec. 14. Donated items can either be new or gently used.
To donate you can go to 423 Walnut Street, Red Bluff or call (530) 528-8000
