Citizen tip leads police to hit and run suspect

OROVILLE, Calif. -

Police in Oroville have found a hit and run suspect, thanks to a tip from a citizen.     

The collision happened Friday at Oro Dam and Lincoln Boulevard.

Witnesses said a silver sedan left the scene after hitting a motorized bicycle ridden by 50-year-old Wayne Freedman .     The vehicle was believed to be a Ford Taurus with damage to the right side of the vehicle.

Police put out a description of the vehicle earlier this week.

On Wednesday, a witness came forward telling police the car was parked in a driveway on Wonder Lane in Oroville.

Police went to the address and found the  damaged vehicle.  Steven Hanshew, 30, was arrested for felony hit and run causing injury.
