Clover Fire Assistance Center open through Thursday evening

REDDING, Calif. -

Victims of the Clover Fire are encouraged to visit the local assistance center open until 7 p.m Thursday in Redding.  They will find representatives from several agencies offering tax assistance and other programs after the fire.

The Clover Fire started Monday, September 9 in the Happy Valley/Igo area.  It burned 8,073 acres and destroyed 68 homes and 128 outbuildings before it was contained on Sunday, September 15.

The Board of Equalization is reaching out to tax and feepayers affected by the Clover Fire in Shasta County. BOE staff will be available on Thursday, September 26 until 7:00 p.m. at the local assistance center, located at the Shasta County Administration Center at 1450 Court Street, Room 137, Redding.

"If you lost your home, property, or tax records in this wildfire, we are here to help," said George Runner, Second District Member of BOE. "Contact us at the center, online or by phone for help with requesting extensions, copies of your records, or relief from interest and penalties."

In addition to visiting the Local Assistance Center, tax and feepayers can go online at to request relief from penalty and/or interest, and an extension of time to file a tax/fee return.

Those without internet access may call the BOE customer service center at 1-800-400-7115 (TTY: 711), Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Pacific Time).
