REDDING, Calif. -

The community is coming together to help a Redding church that was vandalized over the weekend.

Sometime before 8:30 on Sunday morning, someone broke various religious statues outside of the Center for Spiritual Living.

Reverend Mary Mitchell said that everyone is still in shock that someone would do this to their center.

Reverend Mitchell said she first found out about the vandalism on Sunday morning when she walked around the premises and saw all their statues shattered. She said seeing this apparent attack on religion makes her sad but she is sure the culprit will answer for the crime one way or another.

"Whatever you give, you’ll receive whatever you sow you’ll reap, and so our hearts go out to the people who did this," Reverend Mitchell said. "Because someday they are going to regret it and at that point I hope they can find some hope in their life."

The center says this is the first time they have been vandalized. They will be cleaning up the mess tomorrow.
