Copper theft causes $100,000 in damage

REDDING, Calif. -

A reward of up to $500 is being offered for information about a major copper theft that will cost more than $100,000 in damages.

The Secret Witness organization says the suspect or suspects climbed onto the roof of the Shasta County Child Support Services building at 2600 Park Marina Drive in Redding.

There they vandalized 19 air conditioning units, stealing a substantial amount of copper wire and tubing out of the units.

The damage and loss of the wire costs more than $100,000.
