CORNING, Calif. -

Some Corning residents have been receiving invoices aggressively selling extended warranties.

They look very official but are simply a clever advertising scheme to sell extended warranties to Corning residents.

We were tipped off by a concerned resident who thought it might be a scam, especially after she called the company asking to be removed from their mailing list.

We spoke to Corning Police and they assured us that it is perfectly legal but it is important to be wary of any mail selling anything.

Police officials say that if you are concerned that you are being scammed by a company then look them up on the Better Business Bureau.

They also said if you are contacted by a scam they will hang up or be very aggressive when confronted on the legitimacy of their organization.
