REDDING, Calif. -

Shasta County Sheriff's deputies are investigating shots fired at a Shingletown man.

The incident happened around 9 p.m. Monday night in the 7600  block of Pegnan Road in Shingletown .

According to a news release from the Shasta County Sheriff's Office, William Oller told deputies he was walking around his neighborhood when he got into an argument with a man near a home at 7634 Pegnan Road.

A silver van pulled up with two men inside.  Oller said he argued with one of the  men in the van, and the other one got out carrying a shotgun.  According to Oller, the man fired a shot into the air.

Oller ran down the road as six to seven more shots struck near his feet.   Oller said these shots appeared to be from a smaller caliber firearm and not from the shotgun.  The Shasta County Sheriff's Office will conduct follow-up interviews Tuesday.
