Deputies search for teens on the run after escaping juvenile hall
The search is on for two teenagers who escaped from Trinity County Juvenile Hall in Weaverville Tuesday night. The facility is operated by the Trinity County Probation Department.
Tim Rogers, Juvenile Hall Superintendent, said the two teens, ages 15 & 16, escaped around 8:30 p.m. after scaling a perimeter fence around the outdoor recreation area.
Local law enforcement searched the area but were unable to locate the escapees. Rogers said they pair does not have a history of violent offenses. Because they are juveniles, officials did not release the names of the escapees. They were last seen wearing dark blue trousers, dark blue shirts, and black shoes with white soles. The probation department did not release a description of the teens.
If you have information about the whereabouts of the escapees, call the Trinity County Sheriff's Office at (530) 623-2611 or the probation department at (530) 623-1204.
An investigation will be conducted to see if any protocols were not followed at the juvenile detention facility, and if there were any security issues that should be addressed.
