A deputy tracked down a wanted suspect during a traffic stop near Anderson Wednesday night. Robbie Julian was arrested around 10 p.m. during a traffic stop.
The Shasta County Sheriff's Office said Deputy Gerry Maul was on patrol near Highway 273 and Happy Valley Road, when he saw a gold Nissan Murano.
Deputy Maul recognized the vehicle and the driver, Robbie Julian, from an earlier B.O.L.O. for an armed and wanted subject.
Deputy Maul conducted a felony traffic stop at Happy Valley and Majestic View Drive. Julian told deputies he was armed with a gun in the front waistband of his pants.
A search revealed a loaded .45 caliber semi automatic pistol. The serial number was filed off the pistol. Deputies said Julian has prior felony convictions and is not supposed to posses a firearm. Other ammunition was also found inside the vehicle.
Julian was booked for the two outstanding felony warrants along with fresh weapons charges: Convicted felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a loaded firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number.
The case will be forwarded to the Shasta County District Attorney's Office.
