Thomas McDonald made an agreement to plead guilty to two counts of premeditated murder Tuesday in a Shasta County courthouse. The agreement includes the stipulation that he was insane at the time of the murder.
McDonald was accused of murdering Karl Bradshaw and Ralph Torborg with an ax in Mountain Gate in February 2012.
During the entering of the plea McDonald stared emotionless at the judge and stated solemn one word answers when questioned.
McDonald will be facing 50 to life in a California State Mental Hospital.
