TRINITY CENTER, Calif. -

The CHP has identified the driver who was killed in a late night crash in Trinity County.

The victim has been identified as 38-year-old Jennifer Williamson of Trinity Center.  A passenger in the vehicle, 38-year-old Damion Emery, was injured.

The crash happened just before 10 p.m. Tuesday on Highway 3 between Trinity Center and Coffee Creek.

The CHP said Williamson was thrown from the 1997 Acura when it went off the road on a curve, and came to rest more than 200 feet off the road.

The vehicle rolled over several times on the steep rock-covered hillside and came to rest on its roof.  Williamson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Emery survived, got out of the crashed car and climbed up the hillside.  He waited along Highway 3 for emergency personnel to arrive on scene.

Emery was taken by helicopter to Mercy Medical Center in Redding.
