ONO, Calif. -

A Hayfork man was killed after flipping his truck in Shasta County.  The CHP said the wreckage and the victim may have gone unnoticed for several days.

Just before 6 p.m. Thursday were called out to Platina Road east of Bully Choop Road, south of Ono for a report of a truck overturned in a creek bed.

A passing motorist reported the pickup was not visible from the road, and appeared to have been there for several days.

A helicopter was called in to help find the wreckage.  At approximately 6:45 p.m. CHP officers found the overturned 2005 gold Chevrolet 2500 pickup with the driver still inside.  The driver was not wearing his seatbelt and showed signs of being deceased for several days.

The driver was identified as Michael Mummert, 61, of Hayfork.
