A man trying to deal marijuana in Redding was physically assaulted by the two suspects who were allegedly intending to buy the drugs.
Those two men were identified as Timothy Yakaitis, 32, of Shasta Lake and Danny McKee, 26, of Redding.
The incident happened on Nov. 21, but police arrested the suspects Tuesday night.
Redding Police said around 11:00 p.m. on Nov. 21, Yakaitis pulled a handgun on the victim and threatened to shoot him. Officers said McKee began punching the victim in the head and face. Both men then allegedly robbed the victim of his cash and left the scene.
On Dec. 3, multiple law enforcement agencies attempted to contact Yakaitis at a hotel on Hilltop Drive in Redding. He was wearing a long, black wig as a disguise and took off running. Officers said Yakaitis allegedly threw both cash and narcotics on the ground as he was fleeing.
Yakaitis was eventually detained after a short chase. The discarded items were recovered by police.
He was found to be on AB 109 Post Release community Supervision.
Yakaitis was booked into the Shasta County Jail on various charges including being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, robbery, resisting arrest, and a post release community supervision violation.
Earlier that day, investigating officers found and arrested McKee on Chaparral Drive west of Redding. He was booked on multiple robbery-related charges.
