CHICO, Calif. -

Dutch Bros. Coffee on the Esplanade was robbed Sunday morning just after 11 a.m. when a man walked up to a drive-thru window and demanded cash from an employee.

According to police at the scene, the suspect made it appear as if he had a weapon with him.

"He had a towel over his left hand as if he possibly had a weapon underneath the towel," says Chico police officer Brian Magleby. "[He] demanded cash and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled westbound and then southbound through the alley on foot."

Police canvassed the area and searched a nearby alley for clues.

They also stopped a couple of subjects matching a description of the suspect but  determined those individuals were not involved in the incident.

The suspect is described only as a thin male, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, wearing a black hoodie and a green and red flannel patterned scarf over his face.

Anyone with information should contact the Chico Police Department.
