REDDING, Calif. -

The Redding Colt 45s are wrapping up the 2013 regular season with a four-game set against the Marysville Gold Sox starting Thursday.

But for three-players, their talents have carried them into extra innings.

Outfielder Ariel Sanchez, pitcher Jordan Desguin, and infielder Gage Matuszak will all be taking the field in the 2013 Far West League All-Star Game.

The players will stick around in Marysville into next week. The all-star game is on Tuesday.

They said that they are excited to keep playing, and talked about their goals.

“Just playing another baseball game, and just finishing out the season strong,” said Desguin. “I met a few of the guys from the other teams that I know are going to be there. It should be a very fun game and in front of a lot of people."

Sanchez leads the team in homeruns, and Matuszak has the most RBI. Along with Desguin, they are three of 26-players selected for the all-star team.

They have already sized-up the competition.

"The competition is going to be high-level. We've already seen the best players of each team, so it's going to be a lot of fun,” said Sanchez. “It's going to be a high-intensity game."

Infielder Danny Miller will represent the Menlo Park Legends in Tuesday's game. He will be playing at Chico State next season.
