Family Dispute Ends With Teenager Stabbed in the Head

ANDERSON, Calif. -

A stabbing landed an Anderson teenager in the hospital and left a man facing criminal charges.

It apparently stemmed from a family dispute. It happened around 9:30 Tuesday night in the 1900 block of Spruce Circle.

Anderson Police officers were called to a stabbing at the home of 30-year-old Alex Cortez.

They found Cortez with a head injury and several cuts.  Witnesses told police Cortez had threatened two juveniles with a hammer and a knife, stabbing one teen in the head and in the  leg.

Police said the teens defended themselves, hitting Cortez in the head with a baseball bat.

Cortez was taken into custody.  The injured teen was  taken to the hospital.
