REDDING, Calif. -

The family of a man shot and killed by Redding Police has filed a federal lawsuit.

Scott Joseph Deen, 19, was killed on June 22, 2012.

At the time investigators said Deen tried stabbing officers as they tried to arrest him.

The lawsuit names Chief Rob Paoletti, Corporal Jon Poletski, and Officers Hebert, Garnero, Berg, and Bishop.  It seeks damages for unreasonable search and seizure, failure to summon medical care, wrongful death, and negligence among other claims.
