Convicted felon Rusty Toso, was caught and cuffed following a high-speed pursuit through Shasta County Monday afternoon.
Deputies said he led officers on a high-speed chase through the City of Shasta Lake, Redding and Bella Vista.
The chase started just before 4 p.m. Monday, when Toso failed to yield for a traffic stop.
Deputies deployed tack strips during the pursuit striking three tires on the silver Ford Mustang.
Deputies said Toso had a loaded firearm in the car, along with methamphetamine and marijuana.
Toso is no stranger to local law enforcement and is considered a frequent flyer at the Shasta County courthouse.
The 35-year-old’s rap sheet dates back to when he was just a teen with his first felony record for theft and unlawful taking of a vehicle.
Before Monday’s pursuit and arrest, Toso had already racked up four criminal felony charges, including second degree commercial burglary and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Toso is expected in a Shasta County courtroom on five separate cases in January, but he does have a history of failing to appear.
Toso is being held in a Shasta County jail cell. His bail has been set at $25,000.
