UPDATE: Fire that threatened homes west of Redding now 100% contained at 45 acres

REDDING, Calif. -

Crews worked through the night to mop up a 45-acre blaze that broke out in the Texas Springs area west of Redding.

The fire burned along El Camino Robles off Camino Del Encino, and was first reported at about 5:15 p.m. Sunday.

CAL FIRE officials said at one point the fire threatened 5 homes, but none were lost. No homes were damaged in the fire and CAL FIRE said that crews will be mopping up through the end of the day on Monday.

Multiple agencies responded including CAL FIRE, the Redding Fire Department, Happy Valley Fire Department, Anderson Fire Department, Shasta County Fire, and the National Park Service.
