Red Cross assists victims of early morning house fire

The Red Cross is assisting the victims of an early morning house fire in Red Bluff.
The fire was reported at 3:22 a.m. at 1175 Hasvold Street on the city's south side.
According to a news release from Red Bluff Fire Department, firefighters arrived to find a home and attached garage already burning. All occupants escaped the burning home and were not injured.
The home, owned by Bharat Jesrani, suffered major damage. The tenants were able to get out uninjured.
Red Bluff Police officers and passers-by used garden hoses to stop the fire's spread. It also damaged the garage of a neighboring home before being contained just before 4 a.m.
Crews remained at scene until 8 a.m. overhauling hot spots.
One city firefighter was treated at the scene for heat exhaustion.
Red Bluff Police Department and PG&E also responded. The Red Cross sent volunteers to the scene to assist the fire victims.
The cause of the fire is undetermined and remains under investigation.
