UPDATE: First known fatality in Clover Fire identified

IGO, Calif. -

The first fatality has been confirmed in the Clover Fire in Shasta County.

The body of Brian Henry, 55, was found in a motor home on a property on Coal Pit Road in Igo, inside the fire perimeter.  The remains were located late Tuesday evening during a welfare check.

According to Sheriff's investigators, Henry chose to stay when ordered to evacuate. Others with him chose to leave.

Deputies tell us they're not investigating reports of any additional people missing in the fire.

The fire was sparked Monday around 12:30 near Clear Creek Road in Happy Valley.  It spread rapidly, growing to 2,500 acres in less than six hours.  The fire forced evacuations in Happy Valley, Igo and Cottonwood.  As of Wednesday morning it had burned 7,993 acres and was 50% contained.
