Anderson police arrested four people Monday night linked to a kidnapping in Anderson where the victim was reportedly gagged and bound.
Officers were called to the 1800-block of Mill Street in Anderson around 5 p.m. for a reported kidnapping.
The victim’s mother called officers after locating her son’s car on the street. Two men were found sitting inside the victim’s car with loaded handguns.
Officers attempted to make contact with the men, 19-year-old Aaron Merrill of Palo Cedro and 18-year-old Royce Harrison of Shingletown. Harrison tried to run away, but was caught by officers. Both were booked into Shasta County Jail for felony drug, weapon and kidnapping charges.
The victim was found safe just a few blocks away from the scene.
Police tried to contact the owner of the home where the victim was reportedly held in earlier, however, the owner, 19-year-old Michael Kendrick refused to cooperate or communicate with officers.
Officers forced entry into the home and found both Kendrick and 19-year-old Tessa Young both of Anderson inside. Police said they are connected with the kidnapping because their home was used to hold the victim earlier.
They were detained, questioned and booked for drug related charges.
This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Anderson Police Department.
