Glenn County deputies search for man who sexually assaulted a woman after pursuing her in car

BAYLISS, Calif. -

A woman reported being sexually assaulted in the Bayliss area of Glenn County on July 26 after being chased in a car by her assailant.

According to the Glenn County Sheriff's Office, the woman said she noticed a car following her from the Rite Aid parking lot in Colusa, Calif. To get away from the car, the victim drove on rural roads and car followed.

Eventually, the victim told Glenn County deputies that she ended up at a dead end in a remote part of the county near Bayliss. When she couldn't drive any further, the woman said the suspect got out of his vehicle, hit her and sexually assaulted her.

She told deputies that after that, he got back in his car and drove away.

The suspect is described as a Portuguese or Hispanic man around 35 years old, 5'7" tall and 180 lbs. The victim said he has a medium build, black hair and brown eyes. At the time of the crime, he was wearing dark jeans and rubber boots and spoke English.

The car is described as a Chevrolet S10 pickup from the 1990s. The car is step-side and silver.
