GERBER, Calif. -

The search is on for two suspects who broke into a house and tied up the victim before robbing him.

It happened Saturday around 8 p.m. at a home on Mariposa Avenue in Gerber.  Through an interpreter, the victim, 27-year-old Balsemore Garcia, told Tehama County deputies two men came to the front door of his residence asking for assistance.

The men then forced their way into the home and produced handguns.  They struck Garcia on the head and tied him up using duct tape.  The men then demanded money and took Garcia's wallet containing $100.00, two cell phones and vehicle keys.

The men then started making holes in the walls as if they were looking for something that might be hidden inside the walls.  While they were doing this, Garcia got free and ran to a neighbor's house to summon law enforcement.  The suspects then ran away.
