Hair salon promotes breast cancer awareness
Chop Chix Salon in Redding is holding its fifth annual "Think Pink Extravaganza,” where stylists will pamper men and women and then donate all the proceeds to Norcal Think Pink.
Salon co-owner and stylist Crista Ehrlich says it is a fun way to raise awareness for breast cancer.
“To see everybody come together for a good cause and everybody rocking the pink it’s awesome,” said Ehrlich.
Erlich says the community’s response has been unbelievable and every year their salon is packed with supporters.
“Had so many people that we know are related to or friends and clients that have been effected with breast cancer and this is just a way to give back to the community,” said Ehrlich.
With a minimum donation of $10.00, people can have their choice of waxing, haircuts, pink hair extensions or pink glitter gel toenails.
“You can feel good because you look good but you can feel good because you are doing a good thing,” said Ehrlich.
The event is Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. In addition to pampering, they will also have a raffle and other items for sale. Last year the salon raised more than $2,500.00 for Norcal Think Pink, this year they are hoping to meet it or beat it.
