REDDING, Calif. -

A man in Redding arrested was arrested Wednesday night for stalking and resisting arrest.   Police said the suspect 35-year old Jonathon Engelstad was stalking his estranged wife, in violation of a domestic violence restraining order.

The incident started just before 7 p.m. Wednesday in the 3400 block of Court Street in Redding.  Engelstad's estranged wife came home with the couple's two children to find him standing in her yard.  She called police, and when they arrived, Englestad ran.

K9 units and a CHP helicopter were used in the one hour search for the suspect.  He was found hiding in a neighbor's yard, and resisted arrest.

Police said Engelstad also had an illegal collapsible baton.  He was booked into the Shasta County Jail for stalking, violating a restraining order, and resisting arrest.

Police said this is the third time this month police responded to Engelstad violating a restraining order, one of those times he was found in his estranged wife's attic.
