High speed chase ends with crash, Female passenger hospitalized with major injuries
ANDERSON, Calif. -

A high speed pursuit ended late Tuesday with a car crashing at Airport Road and Skyway Street in Redding.  Police used a taser to subdue the driver.

Officers said the chase started at 10:47 p.m.  when an officer tried to stop a Camaro for speeding.  Police said the driver, 37-year-old Silas Madden, sped off reaching speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour.

Madden lost control and crashed into several objects on Skyway Street near Airport Road in Redding before rolling the car.

Police said after the crash, Madden continued to resist officers and they used a Taser to subdue him.

Madden and a woman in the car were taken to the hospital.  The woman reportedly suffered major injuries.  Her name was not released.

Madden was arrested for suspicion of DUI and felony evasion causing bodily injury.

Additional charges will be filed with the Shasta County District Attorney's Office.
