LOS MOLINOS, Calif. -

A Chico woman suffered major injuries after a crash that closed Highway 99 in Tehama County for nearly 2 hours.   The collision happened around 10:45 p.m. Monday just north of Los Molinos near 61st Avenue.

The CHP said Marla Miller, 31, was under the influence when she crossed the center line and her Ford Focus hit a guard rail on the Dye Creek Bridge.  The collision ripped the engine out of the car and threw the guard rail a hundred yards down the road.

Miller's car was then clipped by a big rig trying to avoid the accident.  Miller was flown to Enloe Medical Center in Chico where she was in serious condition.

She faces charges of driving under the influence.

Traffic was reduced to one lane for several hours as Caltrans crews repaired the mangled guardrail.
