Sheriff's officials calling double fatal Ingot fire a homicide

INGOT, Calif. -

On Saturday Shasta County Sheriff's officials said a fire at the Ingot Auto Dismantlers that left two dead is being ruled a homicide.

The fire was reported Friday night off Highway 299, about 20 miles east of Redding, in the town of Ingot just before 6:00 p.m.

The fire included two structures, a house and a Air Stream style trailer not more than 100 feet apart.

The victims were found in two separate locations according to Sgt. Tyler Thompson of the Sheriff's Office.

On Saturday Sheriff's investigators were out at the scene continuing to collect evidence.

How the victims died or how the fire started are not being released.

The victims names are also not being released.

Anyone who may have information or was on Highway 299 between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. is asked to contact the Shasta County Sheriff's Office.
