REDDING, Calif. -

A Redding man, wanted by police for vehicle theft and assault with a deadly weapon,  was arrested Wednesday with a little help from Tarro, a police K-9.

Bradley Wilbe, 33, was found hiding in a parked vehicle located at 1220 Sacramento St.

Wilbe refused to obey officer's commands and a police dog was used to assist in arresting him.

Police say Wilbe was wanted in connection to a vehicle theft that took place outside Mercy Medical Center Monday in which he allegedly stole a tan 2004 Toyota Corolla that was later spotted by the vehicle's owner outside of the Redding Walmart Tuesday around 10:45 p.m.

Shannon Touhey, the vehicle's owner, confronted the man getting into the car, she was then struck by the driver's side door as he drove off.

Using surveillance video, the suspect was identified from prior arrests as Bradley Wible.

Following his arrest Wilbe was booked at the Shasta County Jail for assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a stolen vehicle.

The victim’s vehicle was later located and returned to her.
