Chico is known to get a little out of hand during Halloween.
Chico police said they will have up to 80 officers from multiple agencies patrolling the streets. Most of the officers will be patrolling downtown and the South Campus Neighborhood.
Two teams will be patrolling the rest of the city, and Chico police say the enforcement will last all weekend.
Last year, officers say the rain played a key factor for keeping things quiet and also that Halloween fell on a Wednesday.
"Tonight, with the close proximity to the weekend," said Lieutenant George Laver of Chico Police Department. "Halloween will be the event night and anyone who comes into town to visit friends and have a good time tonight; they'll probably stay throughout the weekend."
There will be zero tolerance for unruly behavior through the weekend, and extra enforcement of alcohol related offenses.
A glass ban will be in effect until 6 a.m. Sunday in the south campus area near Chico State University and downtown.
