TAYLORSVILLE, Calif. -

Fires sparked by lightning have forced mandatory evacuations as the flames move toward Arlington Rd. near Taylorsville.

Mandatory evacuations are now in effect for the south side of Arlington Rd. between Nelson Road in Taylorsville and Johnson Ranch Rd.

Those fires have burned about 180 acres.

The largest of them is the Johnson Fire, which has burned about 140 acres. That fire is made up of the Mt. Hough and Johnson fires, which burned together.

That fire is now starting to back down China Grade toward Taylorsville.

There are also several fires on Keddie Ridge near North Arm. Smoke jumpers have been sent. There is a precautionary evacuation for a section of North Arm Road near Diamond Mountain Road and people have reported seeing a layer of haze hanging over the valley.
