LOS MOLINOS, Calif. -

Los Molinos hosted its 4th of July celebration, starting with a parade down Highway 99.  It was the beginning of a day of celebration, honoring America and veterans.

Los Molinos Chamber of Commerce & the VFW Post 3909 sponsored the 46th annual July 4th Independence Day Parade & PlayDay In The Park.

The parade closed Highway 99 for a couple of hours as more than 100 entries filed past the judge's stand hoping for cash prizes, trophies and applause from the thousands who line the parade route each year.

The parade was followed by "PlayDay In The Park" at Mill Creek County Park.  The fun event included sack races, watermelon eating contests, games and free popsicles for the kids.
