A memorial was held Saturday afternoon to honor the Paradise boy struck and killed by a car two weeks ago.
13-year-old Skyler Millner died after he was hit while crossing the Skyway June 31.
Saturday, Skyler's friends and family gathered at the Skyway Assembly of God to pay their last respects.
Skyler's father, Brett Boman, says Skyler was coming into his own as a man.
"In the last couple of years, (he) had completely blossomed," Boman says. "He was going to make, he was going to make something of himself in this world."
Since Skyler's death, the surrounding community has rallied to show his family their support.
Numerous fundraisers have been held to help his family with the funeral and to get them through these trying times.
"The outpouring of support has been completely overwhelming," Boman says. "I did not know how tight our communities are."
An emotional Boman wants everyone in the community to know just how much their support has meant.
"I would really just like to thank the community for standing behind me and offering their support and comfort in my time and my family's time of need," he says.
