RED BLUFF, Calif. -

The ‘Lover Dovey’ tradition is making many students in Red Bluff excited. The Valentine’s day tradition has been around for 11 years

The ROP Broadcast Technology class is in charge of the program.

“It’s a good way for students to kind of interact with each other in a way that’s different than just kind of passing each other up in the hall, saying hi," said Red Bluff High School student, Steven Weightman.

The way it works is that students fill out a form, dedicating a song to a loved one, then the song will play on Valentine’s day.

"Couples can send them to each other but also friends,” said Armando Chavez.

"I personally listen to the radio all the time when I’m in the car at home and stuff like that, a lot of my friends do and it's a good way to stay connected with people,” said Weightman.

The radio station is 93.1 and will be playing Valentine’s day songs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
