MARYSVILLE, Calif. -

Authorities say a man linked to a series of Northstate bank robberies, may be dead.

A man matching the description  of the so-called 'Man Bag Bandit,' was shot and killed after a high speed pursuit in Marysville Tuesday afternoon.

The man was wanted for robbing the Rabobank on Mangrove Avenue in Chico on April 25.  He was also wanted by the FBI for two bank robberies in Yuba City.

Tuesday around 1:45 pm., a Yuba County deputy spotted a man matching the suspect's description near a bank on Willow Street in Marysville.  Deputies tried to stop him, but he drove off, leading officers on a high speed chase reaching speeds of up to 100 miles per hour along Highway 70.

The chase ended on a dead-end street in an Olivehurst neighborhood.  Shots were fired by the suspect and deputies.  It's unclear who fired the first shots.

The man was found dead in his car.  Officials say the man may have shot himself.  His name was not immediately released.
