ANDERSON, Calif. -

A man is still on the loose, after leading police on a chase through Anderson late Saturday night.

According to Anderson Police, an officer saw a green Chevy Silverado truck driving in the area of Balls Ferry Road and Toyon Street. The officer believed the vehicle was stolen, and later confirmed that as they got closer to the truck.

The suspect then parked in a driveway of an unknown house and took off, near Meadow Lane Elementary School, running away from the stolen truck.

The officer ran after him, as other police assistance arrived. Shasta County Sheriff’s deputies assisted in the search, while the California Highway Patrol helicopter circled the area, looking for the unidentified man. He got away.

The stolen truck is registered out of Cottonwood.

Anyone with information on the suspect or incident is asked to call Anderson Police at (530) 378-6600.
