PARADISE, Calif. -

Friends are remembering the man killed early New Year's morning in a car crash in Chico.  Adam Taylor, 27 of Paradise, died when his Mini Cooper hit a tree on Vallombrosa Avenue in Bidwell Park.

For the last seven years, he worked at the front desk at Beyond Fitness club in Paradise.

Taylor made many friends who now are trying to raise money to help his mother and father with expenses after his death.

Beyond Fitness Manager Coleen Kahle said she and her staff are devastated.

”(It’s) a great loss to the entire community,” said Kahle. “He touched many lives and he was a great friend to everyone he knew, and he will be greatly missed.”

Three years ago, Taylor was injured in a car accident when he was hit by a drunk driver traveling the wrong way on the Skyway.  Kahle said after that accident Taylor was out of work for about a year during his recovery.

Then, just like now, his friends raised money on his behalf.

If you are interested in donating, contact Beyond Fitness.

Friends and family will hold be a candlelight vigil in Taylor's memory Saturday night at Beyond Fitness on Pentz Road in Paradise beginning at 7:30 p.m.
