Man stabbed during bike path robbery

CHICO, Calif. -

Chico Police are trying to locate two suspects in a stabbing that happened on a Chico bike path.   A 22-year-old man was stabbed in the stomach while walking home from the grocery store.

It happened around 6:15 p.m. Thursday on the bike path along Pillsbury Road behind Kmart.

The suspects had approached the victim asking for his iPhone.  He was punched in the stomach, and later discovered he'd been stabbed.  The victim was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released.

The suspects are described as a Hispanic male in his late teens or early 20's, about 5' 9", 140 pounds with dark hair. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.

The second suspect is a white male in his late teens or early 20's, about 5' 9", 140 pounds.  He was wearing a black football-type jacket.
