MESA, Ariz. (KPHO) -

A man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of passing counterfeit $50 bills to various stores and people, including a group of Girl Scouts in February, Mesa, Arizona, police said.

Officers said they were able to track down a suspect, Wayne Dubrul, and tie him to all of the crimes.

On Feb. 23, police said Dubrul approached a group of Girl Scouts who were selling cookies outside a business.

Officers said Dubrul bought one box of cookies for $4 and paid with a counterfeit $50 bill. Police said he took $46 in real change, leaving the girls out of their cookies and their money.

Dubrul was booked into jail on eight counts of forgery.
