Mindy Delgado, the mother accused of stealing her own sons and admitting to Shasta County investigators that she hid them from their court approved legal guardians, was in court for the first time Monday afternoon.
Delgado entered a not guilty plea on two felony charges of child stealing.
Delgado showed signs of sadness, her lip quivered, as the Shasta County judge handed down a no contact order for Delgado involving her two sons, 7-year-old Dane and 5-year-old Aden Garland.
Delgado failed to return her two sons to their legal guardian after a routine, court-approved visitation in the City of Shasta Lake the night of Dec. 21.
A countywide Endangered Missing Alert for the young boys went out following their abduction.
After nearly five full days of following up on tips from the community, Shasta County Major Crimes Investigators located the brothers and arrested Delgado.
7-year-old Dane and 5-year-old Aden Garland are currently back at home with their legal guardians.
According to online records, Delgado’s bail has been set at $150,000.
Her next court date is set for Jan 9.
