REDDING, Calif. -

Northern California United Harley Riders rode this afternoon to honor veterans; both current service-members and those who have died.

It's called "One flag, 48 states in 100 days".

The Chico chapter of the Harley owners group presented an American flag to the Redding chapter at the Redding Harley Davidson shop.

It was part of the 4th annual "Nationwide Patriot Tour."

The ride started in Milwaukee, and the flag is passed from chapter to chapter.

Members were proud to show their appreciation to service men and women.

"We're trying to show our vets that are here and that are serving our country that we care," Willie Parker, a Redding HOG road captain said.  "We are proud of them and want to help as much as we can."

The tour is also part of a fundraiser for veterans families in need. Each rider is asked to donate five dollars to participate.

The Redding chapter will head north to Medford to hand off the flag Friday.

They expect 25 to 30 riders.
