BATH, Ohio -

If the first rule of real estate is location, location, location, the second should probably be: any links to serial killers? Unfortunately a house up for sale in Ohio can't dodge the latter inquiry. Despite offering some great amenities, it also happens to be the childhood home of notorious mass murderer Jeffrey Dahmer.

WJW-TV reported that the charming three bedroom, two-and-a-half bath ranch home, which is currently offered for $329,000, is situated on almost two acres of lush woodland in Bath, that includes a pond and walking trails.

"The house was built in 1952. It's almost 2,200 square feet," listing agent Gregory Greco, with Keller Williams Realty, told the TV station. "There's an updated kitchen, granite counter tops and higher-end appliances."

While the description may sound appealing to most, what may not be disclosed in the real estate ad is that the home was also the site of Dahmer's first slaying.

According to a 2009 NPR story, in 1978, Dahmer lured a hitchhiker named Steven Hicks back to the house to have sex with him, but when Hicks said he wanted to leave Dahmer beat him to death with a barbell. Dahmer later dismembered Hicks' corpse in the house's crawlspace and buried him the back yard.

Dahmer went on to kill a total of 17 men and boys between 1978 and 1991, until he was caught and convicted in 1992. He was later fatally beaten by an inmate in prison while serving 15 life terms for murder.

"Some people are not going to want any part of it. Some people want a part of it. But there have been families that have lived here since that happened. The home has transferred a number of times," Greco told WJW.

NPR reported that Chris Butler, the current owner of the house, said it has been investigated for paranormal activity -- including a ghost hunt in 2009 -- but that due to technical anomalies experienced during the investigation, no conclusive evidence was found of either Dahmer's presence or that of his victims.
