Authorities in Sarasota County received a tip Monday that someone appeared to be making meth near the Jacaranda Public Library in Venice, according to the Sarasota Herald-Tribune.
An undercover officer responded and reported seeing 28-year-old Raymond King mixing liquids from items in his backpack.
Tiffany Stoltz, 28, was sitting on a mattress nearby, police said.
The couple is homeless, according to police, and King had been living at the library for about a month.
They now face felony counts of attempt to manufacture methamphetamine and possession of listed chemicals with intent to manufacture, the Bradenton Herald reported.
