A Gazebo in Lake Redding will soon be complete, and the public are invited to the dedication ceremony.
It's not just any Gazebo; it's an idea that developed three years ago, and grew into a real Gazebo. It caught the attention of passers-by on the Sacramento River Trail as it was built this summer.
The project costs more than $100,000 including donations, and took the love and labor of many volunteers.
The project was spearheaded by the Marine Corps League, and has a military theme and has plaques from all the branches of the service mounted near the roof.
They anticipate it will be popular for weddings, band concerts, family reunions and more.
It's by the railroad trestle next to the picnic shelter and in the Spring, you will be able to reserve both the picnic shelter and the gazebo with the City of Redding for $70. It's free if nobody else is using it.
The public are invited to a dedication ceremony at 1 p.m. on Tuesday in Lake Redding.
