ANDERSON, Calif. -

With Thanksgiving around the corner many are preparing to spend it with family and friends to enjoy a delicious meal.

Cats and dogs can’t digest those foods like humans do, which can make them deadly. Foods you should especially watch out for are chocolate, raisins, grapes, macadamia nuts and onions. Those can be very dangerous for them.

"They can get upset stomachs ,they can develop pancreatitis from our food,” said Haven Humane’s  Captain LeeAnn Smith.  “Because it’s just not something their digestive tract is able to handle so you have to be really careful about that."

Turkey bones are also something that shouldn't be given to pets due to the fact that it can splinter in an animal’s throat which can cause death.
