REDDING, Calif. -

Mom’s gathered in front of the Shasta County Courthouse Monday morning to make a statement.

Their goal was to remind everyone that breast-feeding in public is OK. The group of eight women said they wanted to support Ariel Ruggles, the woman who was kicked out last week due to breast-feeding her child in a courtroom.

The Shasta County Courthouse said it was all a big mistake and said they would send a apology letter to Ariel Ruggles. But the group of women said that isn’t enough.

“Hopefully it becomes the norm, normal, natural and not saying that you have to do it but be accepting and tolerant of people who do,” said Heather Philips, a mother who encourages breastfeeding.

We asked Ariel Ruggles if she had received an apology letter, she said she was still waiting for it in the mail.
